Binary and the Light of God

For those of you that don’t know much about computer programming, I am going to teach you a lesson on something called Binary, which is part of Assembly Code.  Binary is the root language in which all computer languages are based from.  They are in bits, which are zero’s or 0’s and 1’s or one’s.  A byte is a combination of zero’s and one’s.  There are usually eight bits in a byte.  A one or 1 means that that the electricity is on and is received so it receives a signal that shows that it is receiving power.  A zero means that the light is not on, and that it is receives no power.  Usually a byte is made up of a symbol such as 10101001 and not to get too technical, and too specific in detail about the ways that binary is laid out, I want to mention that this combination of numbers means that the signals are a combination of receiving power and not receiving power.

What does this have to do with Christianity?  1 John 1 says – “5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

God is light and there is in Him no darkness at all.  So that means essentially His light is always on or in binary terms 11111111. The prince of darkness, or satan, he contains no light, which would be 0000000 and consequently that is not even supposed to be a binary number.  If I remember correctly a binary number is supposed to have at least one one, no pun intended.  The problems is that for Christians at least, they should strive to be 11111111, but often we find ourselves being a combination of one’s and zero’s meaning that our light is not always on.  We should be shining the light of Christ in everything that we do.  It should always be on.

The word light is used approximately 272 times in 235 verses in the King James Version.

Isaiah 2:5 says,” O house of Jacob, come and let us walk In the light of the LORD.” NKJV

Every Christian probably knows John 3:16, but have you ever considered the verses that are after it?

“16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

I want to mention here that in hinduism- they praise the number zero.  They hold great reverence to the concept of the circle and the number zero, but essentially in binary terms, the number zero would represent something having no light, or receiving no power so that the light is off.  Jesus has not represented a never ending loop or circle for He has said, I am the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega, but instead a straight light that goes from the Earth to Heaven, and comes back to earth in a straight line, and essentially the number One, is a straight line.  God is also One.

Ephesians 4 says –

4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you[a] all.

Ephesians 5 says –

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spiritis in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. 12For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says:

“ Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”

Matthew 6:22-23 says

22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Matthew 5:16 says

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

There are consequences for not operating out of light.  Many people think that there are no gray areas and that some things are ok, if they don’t hurt anybody, but essentially everything is either Light or darkness.  You are either operating out of God or satan, or the flesh or the Spirit of God, what you do is either a binary 1 or a binary 0.

Revelation 18 says –
21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. 22 The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore. 23 The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived. 24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth.”

1 John 2:9-10 says

9 He who says he is in the light, and hates his brother, is in darkness until now. 10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. 11 But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

I mentioned before in another post that who you are is not defined by what you do.  That means that we don’t have to earn or rack up points with God to earn his favor or grace or blessings, but our lives have to be transformed.  As the previous video I posted said, it has to be a transformation from the inside.  If you are the righteousness of God in Christ, and do not continue to walk in light, and as Jesus warned against, burying your light and hiding it, then what use are you to the Kingdom of God.  You have to take on the nature of God and walk in the Spirit of God, which is the Spirit of Light.

There is one Body of Christ, and we are supposed to shine out the light, but because of the way we treat people Christ isn’t glorified.  If we love Christ and hate another person then we are liars.  Mahatma Gandhi said, “I love Christ, but I hate Christians.”  We saw one man who in the end of his life chose to not accept Christ because he did not want to become a Christian.  People are supposed to look at our light and see it and want to have what we have.  We are supposed to be an example to the world in the way to live.  After all we have the source of all the answers, and shouldn’t our lives be transformed by it?  Shouldn’t our lives show this light?

Maybe you don’t know this light.  Or you want to receive power.  You may have a form of godliness but deny the power.  What is the power – in the revelation or rhema for today it is light.

If you haven’t accepted Jesus into your heart, and you would like to find this light say this prayer –

Heavenly Father,

I know that I am walking in darkness and need You as a light.  I need You to be the light of my life and the light in my heart.  Help me to walk in the knowledge of You and to walk in all Your ways.  Help me to walk in righteousness and clothe myself with the Fruit of the Holy Spirit.  Help me to know You and grow closely in an intimate walk with You.  I thank You Lord for giving this revelation to me and accepting me into Your kingdom.  Show me how to be a light to other people.

In Jesus Name I pray.
