When you’re momma is a ho

Yo ya folks,
My momma is a ho

My momma is a ho

My momma is a ho

She walks the streets and puts up the signs and says call me and call me and call me

She walks the streets and puts up the signs and says call me and call me and call me

Yo my momma is a ho, my mamma is a ho, my momma is a ho!!!!

In case you’re wondering what I am going to preach on today it’s Ezekiel 16.

The Church is the Bride of Jesus – and Israel – and this only applies to Israel, DO NOT TAKE A PERSONAL APPLICATION TO THIS!!!!

Jerusalem’s Harlotry

15 “But you trusted in your own beauty, played the harlot because of your fame, and poured out your harlotry on everyone passing by who would have it. 16 You took some of your garments and adorned multicolored high places for yourself, and played the harlot on them. Such things should not happen, nor be. 17 You have also taken your beautiful jewelry from My gold and My silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself male images and played the harlot with them. 18 You took your embroidered garments and covered them, and you set My oil and My incense before them. 19 Also My food which I gave you—the pastry of fine flour, oil, and honey which I fed you—you set it before them as sweet incense; and so it was,” says the Lord God.

20 “Moreover you took your sons and your daughters, whom you bore to Me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were your acts of harlotry a small matter, 21 that you have slain My children and offered them up to them by causing them to pass through the fire? 22 And in all your abominations and acts of harlotry you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, struggling in your blood.

23 “Then it was so, after all your wickedness—‘Woe, woe to you!’ says the Lord God— 24 that you also built for yourself a shrine, and made a high place for yourself in every street. 25 You built your high places at the head of every road, and made your beauty to be abhorred. You offered yourself to everyone who passed by, and multiplied your acts of harlotry. 26 You also committed harlotry with the Egyptians, your very fleshly neighbors, and increased your acts of harlotry to provoke Me to anger.

27 “Behold, therefore, I stretched out My hand against you, diminished your allotment, and gave you up to the will of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who were ashamed of your lewd behavior. 28 You also played the harlot with the Assyrians, because you were insatiable; indeed you played the harlot with them and still were not satisfied. 29 Moreover you multiplied your acts of harlotry as far as the land of the trader, Chaldea; and even then you were not satisfied.

30 “How degenerate is your heart!” says the Lord God, “seeing you do all these things, the deeds of a brazen harlot.

The reason why God was so mad at Israel was because she prostituted herself instead of seeking after her husband, the LORD JEHOVAH!!!

Man, this is the same guy that makes the volcano’s errupt and they are seeking after other lovers, what a shame!!!!  What a shame, what a shame.

Israel had her true love in the Lord Jesus Christ, so when God was writing this book of Ezekiel, He was stepping forward into time, and seeing His Son on the Cross, and remembering the pain associated with His Son being on the Cross, so then He stepped back into the past and consumed His wrath upon them.  He was so Jealous, and Jesus was so hurt, and then Jesus in the book of Revelation 2 goes into the future about the Church of Ephesus, and recalls Himself being crucified, and then goes to Ezekiel 16, and says –

My Jerusalem – my one and only Jerusalem – My bride my one and only bride the Church, how can you forget me, the One who loves you.  Then it is like Isaiah 54.  For this is like the waters of Noah to Me;
For as I have sworn
That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth,
So have I sworn
That I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.
10 For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”
Says the Lord, who has mercy on you.

Remember the movie Pretty Woman, with Julia Roberts?  Well this is what this is like.  In the movie, Julia Roberts is a prositute who goes after a rich man, but in this context, the prostitute, already had a husband who she loved, and she really loved and was pretty much just selling herself short, she was beautiful, but she left him for another man, and He hated it, – “Jesus was asking His Father?”  Why doesn’t she love me?  Why doesn’t she love me?  Why doesn’t she love me?  So then the Father had to answer back in Ezekiel 16 and say that it is because they have left their true love.

Jerusalem’s Adultery

31 “You erected your shrine at the head of every road, and built your high place in every street. Yet you were not like a harlot, because you scorned payment. 32 You are an adulterous wife, who takes strangers instead of her husband. 33 Men make payment to all harlots, but you made your payments to all your lovers, and hired them to come to you from all around for your harlotry. 34 You are the opposite of other women in your harlotry, because no one solicited you to be a harlot. In that you gave payment but no payment was given you, therefore you are the opposite.”

The Bride is going to be exact like her mother.  It even says so in verse 44.

But let me tell you why He’s saying all this.  He won’t let it go that far, but you know when we all get mad, we say things we don’t mean, and we get really furious and we yell and scream, imagine if a husband who loves his wife caught him cheating on her with another man, and this man was his worst enemy.  Wouldn’t he be furious?  He would absolutely be furious!!!  He would be so mad, that He would yell and say – imagine this scenario –

He’s got sweat coming out of his brow, and he’s got liquid coming out of his poors, and his face is red and he feels like he’s going to erupt and with his firm strong hands with abrupt forceful movement yanked out the precious strong pearls delicately thrown around the neck.  He had Jealous fury like a husband  that had been wronged.  His eyes were a flame with passion like a Lamb that is roasting on the fire, and the heat bubbled like a volcano, and was fierce as an earthquake, He was in love with this woman, and she cheated on him and he still managed  to forgive her.  Filled with the dynamic forces of contempt and love waging war at the same time, burning and yearning to be with her, yet despising her because she left him alone.  She left him alone.  He wanted to leave her to the very ones for her filthiness, and the same time, this was his bride, a bride whose beautiful gown, he would like to see drenched in blood, but at the same time, would like to see renewed much like Jerry MacGuire, and then there comes the song – “She’ll lead you down that path, she’ll lead you down that road, that secret garden….don’t think twice.”  So then He forgives and forgets.  He rushes by her side in an embrace, and kisses her and takes her into the Garden in Song of Solomon, and makes sweet love to her in the bedchamber of heaven.

Jerusalem’s Lovers Will Abuse Her

35 ‘Now then, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord! 36 Thus says the Lord God: “Because your filthiness was poured out and your nakedness uncovered in your harlotry with your lovers, and with all your abominable idols, and because of the blood of your children which you gave to them, 37 surely, therefore, I will gather all your lovers with whom you took pleasure, all those you loved, and all those you hated; I will gather them from all around against you and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness. 38 And I will judge you as women who break wedlock or shed blood are judged; I will bring blood upon you in fury and jealousy. 39 I will also give you into their hand, and they shall throw down your shrines and break down your high places. They shall also strip you of your clothes, take your beautiful jewelry, and leave you naked and bare.

40 “They shall also bring up an assembly against you, and they shall stone you with stones and thrust you through with their swords. 41 They shall burn your houses with fire, and execute judgments on you in the sight of many women; and I will make you cease playing the harlot, and you shall no longer hire lovers. 42 So I will lay to rest My fury toward you, and My jealousy shall depart from you. I will be quiet, and be angry no more. 43 Because you did not remember the days of your youth, but agitated Me[a] with all these things, surely I will also recompense your deeds on your own head,” says the Lord God. “And you shall not commit lewdness in addition to all your abominations.

Imagine this poor woman, who because of her naivity, and her deceptive heart, who took after so many lovers because of her dicotomy of personality, where her brain just is an intense momentum of ups and downs and very much like a rollar coaster, that doesn’t go upside down, she takes this guy for a spin.  She’s the typical slut, so what can He do for her?  But she doesn’t want to be a slut anymore?  She doesn’t want to be the one in the spotlight anymore, like Britney Spears’ “Lucky” song.  She wants to be be a princess now, and a queen, like Danielle DeBarberac in Ever After Cinderella Story, but now she wants to be loved.  He was so mad that He said, they would throw up stones and abuse her, it would take more than the Knights of the Round Table, to go and rescue this princess.  It would take a King and the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  Who is both Prince and hero over the wrath of a God who King Triton (The Little Mermaid) is only a shadow of.   Types and shadows – Types and shadows are things that resemble Christ.  A type is something like a noun, and a shadow is like an analogy or comparison.

Will this hero get His bride in the end?  To know that you have to say the sinner’s prayer:

Heavenly Father:

I know I am a sinner, I want to know You more and I want to learn more about You and Your Son, teach me about your Son Jesus Christ because He seems like an awesome person, and I want to get to know this person, and I have a feeling we can be really cool buds.  I want to get to know a guy who’s been through the school of hard knocks like me like that.

In Jesus Mighty name I pray,

No other name but the name of Jesus

There is a song by this name –

No other name but the name of Jesus

Is worthy of glory

Worthy of honor

Worthy of power and worthy of fame.

Now not to be confused with the Father who is Jehovah or YHWH, Jesus is the Son of God – the reason why there are two separate entities and the best I can describe it is like a body – you have the whole body which is like the Father, and then you have the heart, which is Christ Himself.  The Father was there with His heart ripped out in order make justification for our sins because Christ was slain from the foundation of the world.  How can that be?  Because Christ is outside of time and the Father created time, so everything is in the present as He is concerned.

So there is only ONE WAY – ONLY ONE WAY – ONLY ONE WAY – to get to heaven and that is through Jesus Christ.  What person wouldn’t want to accept someone who gave their life away so that the whole world can life?  He accepts you no matter what you did before you came to know Him, and He still loves you.  Not even the depths of hell can seperate you from the love of God.

There is a very dangerous set of beliefs right now that tie hinduism and Christianity together called New Age.  And then there’s the Interfaith movement, which just accepts everything.  If you accept Jesus You CANNOT ACCEPT EVERYTHING, or else you would make the Word of God null and void, and if you make the Word of God null and void, then there would be nothing redeemable in life because He is after all our sacrifice.  If you have all those “coexist” bumper stickers out there – take out the “t” because the Cross is not in there.  There is no way Christ talked about “coexisting” with other faiths.  He said that Narrow is the Gate and Few are the ones that find it.  He said that there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth for those who don’t believe.

hinduism and Christianity cannot coexist.  Any mixing of anything with Christianity is called syncretism, and is not a pure and true and holy faith.  Time is getting short and there is less and less time for people to spread the word out that get ready – JESUS is coming!!!  Jesus is alive and every other “spiritual leader is dead”.  Jesus had to come down as the Son of God and be submissive to reflect the character of humbleness, which He did by washing the disciples feet.

That’s why there had to be a Son, – there had to be a mediator – Job in the Bible cried out for one man – who would intercede between a Father who is holy and whose wrath is so tremense, who had so many rules because He was testing the people to see if they would really obey Him or not, so then He sent Jesus His Son, down to earth.  The thing that makes the Bible credible from the Jewish Tanak and Torah to the New Testament – Greek and Septuagint- is the fact that there is over 500 prophecies that got filled from the time of the Old Testament until now, and maybe even more.  When someone who is not born again reads the Bible – and they are not filled with the Holy Spirit, or have not accepted Christ as their one and only Savior- they will not be able to get the rhema or revelation, that comes from Him through the Bible so to them it will be another book.  The Holy Spirit then guides them to the truth of God’s Word and it brings Life to those who find it.  Before someone becomes born again, their spirit does not belong to God, but to the enemy, and when they receive Christ, their spirit then becomes the dwelling place for the Holy Spirit, and it takes complete surrender for the spirit to match up to the Holy Spirit.  They may be good people and consider themselves “righteous”, but their righteousness is like filthy rags to God.  And the only way they get cleansed is through the Blood of JESUS.

Before there was the devil, he was called lucifer and he was an angel of light in heaven with God, he was worship leader and he was very beautiful and what the Bible calls a cherub, and he wanted to be God, and he thought he was more beautiful that God and he exalted himself above the throne and was sent crashing down to the second heaven, where the angels and demons dwell and that is called the second heaven.

There were fallen angels called the sons of God back during the time that Noah was on the earth and they were created to teach righteousness with men, but they corrupted themselves by sleeping with the daughters of men and bearing children and those children became giants.

So then lucifer also called satan tempts Eve in the Garden of Eden to eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil which God has commanded her not to eat so she eats of it, and gives it to Adam (Adam and Eve were the first man and woman on the planet and they were without sin), and after they ate they became exposed to sin.

The whole Bible is showing about how Jesus had to come down and become the blood offering for the sins of the people.  God chose the Jews as a promise to Abraham and His covenant with Him about Isaac – His covenant was through Isaac and to prove that the Bible is accurate – the Hebrew Torah has been preserved throughout generations and the oral tradition has been carried out from generation to generation.  Isaac was a foreshadowing or something to signify or predict that Jesus was coming.  The whole Bible ties in together and is woven so intricately by the hand of God to show the many different ways and facets of Jesus.  There is still only one God and to explain the Father, Son and Spirit is to use the example of the sun – the sun signifies God, and the Light signifies Jesus, and the heat signifies the Holy Spirit.  But God is not the sun – He is much, much greater than the sun.

The first Commandment which still holds true in the New Testament – is to Have no other gods, statues, idols, or molded images before Him (Jehovah or YHWH)- But even Jesus honored that by being submissive to the Father, everything was done for the will of the Father.

The best thing about Jesus is that He came to forgive sins.  The Father God is not the universe, or any other god of any other religion.  He was only revealed to the Jews first through the Abraham and everything else came from Him.  Everything else is a form of idolatry and people that believe in any form of idolatry will be punished, but the best part is God loves you so much He just wants you to be with Him, and if you don’t accept the gift He gave you out of His heart of deep unconditional love then you will not get to know what an awesome God who is different and like no other god that there is.  There is only One God.  Isaiah 43:10 says there is no other god, there never has been, nor shall there be.

John 3:16 – God loved the world so much that He sent His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

Only a fool would say in His heart there is no God.

Now I am using an English Word here for “God” – but He is actually called YHWH – which you cannot pronounce, so they call the Father Jehovah in English.  Then there is Adonai and Elohim and many different names of God, which can be found.  But they are all found in the Father – and the Father has not come down in History, only the Son Jesus, and that was once.  The name Jesus is an English name, but His original Hebrew name is Yeshua.  Jesus called Him Daddy, or Abba- which is the Jewish affectionate term or Papa.

Satan is the god of this world, and YHWH is the God of Heaven.  The name Elohim – the Creator of the world, is the name whose English definition causes confusion because it has a double meaning – it can mean God or god, but according to years of rabbinical teachings and translations – the proper context of the words is found.  The scribes had to practice copying the Scriptures down word for word letter by letter for intimate detail and that is why the Law was passed for the season, so that they were allowed to be meticulous so that they could preserve the Word of God.  The term God we actually use now according to Judeo-Christian beliefs is different – the original word was Elohim.  If you really want to get into a study of the meaning of the words of Elohim, then you would have to use a Thayer’s Lexicon or go to Bible College and study that for a long time, and even then unless you are led by the Holy Spirit you could miss the big picture.  It is the word LORD, which is the One True God, the One we have relationship with as Father, and that is JEHOVAH.  The name Yeshua means the “One who saves”, and He is the only One who can save us from our sins.  Hence the name, Savior.

Jesus said, “I AM the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE – NO ONE can get to the Father, except through Me.”

So as the time closes…I repeat myself as I have done – to know if there are any other people that haven’t found Jesus yet – or are convinced that there has to be more than one way or even no way.  Then this is my plead to you.  You have been blinded, and it is time to open your eyes to the Truth.

God justifies the harm of the righteous from the wicked with His wrath

There is a very serious danger going on in our society right now.  There are very serious lusts and degrees of sins, and while we say that grace does cover and grace washes over our sins, but it is the BLOOD OF JESUS, that cleanses from all unrighteousness, it is those who choose to follow God, and continue in no longer sinning.

Galatians 5 says –

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,[c] fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders,[d] drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Colossians 3 says –

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, [lustful] passion(s), evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. (emphasis added)

Matthew 5 says –

19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.

We have a society that is based on lewdness, evil thoughts, fornications, etc., and even those that are sinners, unless they come into repentance, wrath is waiting for them.  You don’t want to see His wrath.

I posted a video called the Jealousy of God, and He is so jealous for His bride, the bride of Christ, that He will not tolerate any evil to come to her, and when people harm and persecute the Church, watchout, fury from the wrath of God is waiting for them.

Song of Solomon 8

For love is as strong as death,
Jealousy as cruel as the grave;
Its flames are flames of fire,
A most vehement flame.

Vehement means hot, fiery, passionate, intense.

The fireman in the Fantastic Four is nothing compared to the the vehement God who is known as Jealous and who as wrath.

Jesus cried vehement tears to the Father for us – Hebrews 5:7.

Psalm 58 says –

vs. 9 -Before your pots can feel the burning thorns,
He shall take them away as with a whirlwind,
As in His living and burning wrath.
10 The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance;
He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked,
11 So that men will say,
“Surely there is a reward for the righteous;
Surely He is God who judges in the earth.”

Proverbs 11 –

The desire of the righteous is only good,
But the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

People don’t see the power of our God, the One who with the touch of His finger can send a forest ablazing, or the touch of His feet can cause the earth to shake like a drunken man tossed back to and fro.

This is a very powerful God, but still people play games, they revel in their sin, and drunkeness, and fornication, without any consideration for their very souls.  They behave like pigs, and one sermon I listened to about the Presence of Pigs, said that if you are in the presence of pigs, you begin to tolerate evil.   God does not tolerate evil, and sometimes He wants to hug us and love us, but that treasure is only for the righteous, but the wicked have to suffer in the punishment of His wrath, when He comes to judge and vindicate and bring justice to His Bride.  We are the Bride of Christ, and we belong to Him.

I feel like a voice crying in the wilderness, “Repent, Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at hand!!!!”

The Jealousy of God

I know a lot of people cannot understand how God can be jealous, and what it means to be jealous.  The thing is that it is a different kind of jealousy than human jealousy.  It is above that standard.  This sermon based on the revelation of Exodus 34 and Song of Solomon 8 builds again on the foundations of the Justice of Christ, and the Treasures of Love posted on in the previous blog postings.  This sermon after watching it – it really shook me.  I did not know what to do with it or myself.  I knew that something needed to change, and I knew it was me.  It stirred up in my heart and continues to stir up this passion and zeal for God, but sometimes we get so caught up in our “idols” or “gods” that we lose sight of what is really important.  That is this love for God and this fire and zeal for the jealous God, and to hunger and thirst after Him, and to be holy like He is holy.  This speaker points out that God is Jealous and that He is also Grace.  I am hoping you are touched the same way, and maybe even to a greater extent than I am.

And He has called us friends

We all like to have friends.  Wouldn’t it be nice to realize, and come and accept that God wants to be our friend.

In John 15:15 Jesus says that He no longer calls them servants, but He calls them friends because friends know what their master is doing.

John 15:15
No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

Here is a prayer from David, who was a man after God’s own heart, where He was still known as Lord (Adonai) which means Master, and LORD, which is YHWH, which means I AM that I AM.

Prayer for Mercy, with Meditation on the Excellencies of the Lord

A Prayer of David.

86 Bow down Your ear, O Lord, hear me;
For I am poor and needy.
Preserve my life, for I am holy;
You are my God;
Save Your servant who trusts in You!
Be merciful to me, O Lord,
For I cry to You all day long.
Rejoice the soul of Your servant,
For to You, O Lord, I lift up my soul.
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive,
And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.

Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer;
And attend to the voice of my supplications.
In the day of my trouble I will call upon You,
For You will answer me.

Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord;
Nor are there any works like Your works.
All nations whom You have made
Shall come and worship before You, O Lord,
And shall glorify Your name.
10 For You are great, and do wondrous things;
You alone are God.

11 Teach me Your way, O Lord;
I will walk in Your truth;
Unite my heart to fear Your name.
12 I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
And I will glorify Your name forevermore.
13 For great is Your mercy toward me,
And You have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

14 O God, the proud have risen against me,
And a mob of violent men have sought my life,
And have not set You before them.
15 But You, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious,
Longsuffering and abundant in mercy and truth.

16 Oh, turn to me, and have mercy on me!
Give Your strength to Your servant,
And save the son of Your maidservant.
17 Show me a sign for good,
That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed,
Because You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

The Lord spoke to Moses as a friend, and yet He is called Master, but He speaks to Moses a man speaks to his friend:

11 So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. And he would return to the camp, but his servant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, did not depart from the tabernacle.

These days we take the word friend so casually, to mean just anyone we get along with is our friend, or all our facebook friends, and acquaintances but in Hebrew, friend, meant someone you were intimate like you were knit together, that is the kind of relationship that Moses had with God.  Even then in the Old Testament, most of the people that were called friends turned out to be deceivers and liars, and unworthy, and I think in Proverbs it says someone is cursed for blessing their friend while rising in the early in the morning – Proverbs 27.  But when you look at the way Jesus describes it, friend, was regarded highly by Jesus.

Jesus wants us to know what is in His heart and on His mind.  He wants the fire of God to burn within us.  He wants us to be passionate for Him.  But He wants us to search out the intimate things of God.

The interesting difference between a friend and a master is that with a friend you really have to trust them, but with a master you do what they say because they are in a position of authority and you honor and respect them.  You pretty much have no choice with a master, but with a friend you have a choice that you have to trust them.

Now don’t get me wrong, we should still regard God as the Sovereign God, and our Lord and Master, but there is a deeper relationship that He wants you to have.  He wants you to get to know Him.  I know I did a post on a similar subject before called Jesus the closest companion…but I think we need a refresher course.  Imagine that the God who created the whole universe is not just your friend, but your best friend.

Imagine you ran a red light accidentally and the cop was your best friend, the cop would probably say something like, “Ok, bud, this was wrong, but if I catch you next time, I’ll have to give you one.”

David had favor with Saul for the sake of Jonathan.

Now to put things into proper perspective, God is not just our best friend, but He is our king, and our ruler, and the principle authority figure in our lives.  But He wants us to know Him as our loving Heavenly Father first, but He is also very Holy and He cannot be around sin.  Sin keeps Him away from us.  Let’s take example lying.  Wouldn’t you be mad if someone lied to you?  Wouldn’t you be mad at your children if they didn’t do anything you said and were running a havoc around the house?  Even if you are married if your wife lied to you or she lusted after another man or women if your husband lied to you and lusted after another man, wouldn’t you be upset.  Some marriages people can’t forgive after adultery because they’ve been so hurt, God is the same way.  He doesn’t want you lying to Him or anyone else either, and since the Holy Spirit lives inside of you, He doesn’t want you abusing your body.  He doesn’t want you speaking bad things about His friends.  He wants you to respect and to honor Him as King.  That’s why you should respect and honor and fear Him not because you think He’s going to destroy you or send you to hell – but out of love of the heart.  God looks at intent of the heart.  He looks at motive.

The Bible says “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling”

It also says in Ephesians 1:

13 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

This verse is conditional to the promise that you trusted in God.  If you don’t trust God as your friend that He really doesn’t want to hurt you.  That He really doesn’t want you to think that He doesn’t care for you, but because He disciplines or chastens you it is for your benefit.  It is so that He is trying to teach you something.  God is always talking, I mean always – everywhere.  Are we really listening to Him?

I’ve had to learn this lesson about trusting God has my friend first instead of one who wants to discipline me.  If your friend tells you, “Hey can you do me a favor?”  And your parents command you to do chores, who are you going to want to obey- your friend or your parents?  It may be the same exact thing.  I guess it depends on your relationship with Him…sometimes He’s your parent and sometimes He’s your friend, but sometimes He’s both.  He likes to play Good Cop and Bad Cop at the same time, but there’s nothing bad about Him, but it is to get you to admit and confess what you did was wrong and take responsibility for it.

Fighting tools

I’ve been recently been thinking upon and chewing upon the verses and even claiming some of the verses and Scriptures that have to do with the Armor of God.  In Ephesians 6, it mentions the Armor of God,

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

This is one of the most profound passages of Scriptures found in the Bible.  While Paul was in prison, he got inspiration while looking at a Roman Soldier.  You can take some time and research some sermons about that.  But what I want to talk about actually is the connection between this passage and Psalm 91.

Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God

1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
  And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

In vs. 2, the Bible talks about the refuge and fortress.  The refuge is a shelter and fortress and is a strongtower, and in God, not just God, but our own personal relationship we have with God, we are to trust. A snare can even mean a trap, and in some cases it means calamity.    In vs. 4 it talks about wings and feathers, and I’ve heard it mentioned that this refers to the Talit, or Prayer Shawl, that Jesus used when He was walking around and the woman just touched the hem of His garment.

Psalm 91 talks about those that dwell particularly in the Secret Place, under the shadow of the Almighty.  The Almighty is actually the name El Shaddai, for God.  God Almighty, means the many breasted, or One who provides nourishment to our souls.  This is the same God Almighty mentioned in Revelation 1:8-

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,”says the Lord,“who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Imagine a mother Eagle, who protects her children under the shadow of her wings.  This is the same way God Almighty protects us under the shadow of His wings.  Under that shadow is safety.

The shield and buckler, is composed of two things – there is a shield of faith, which is actually the size of a door and then there’s the buckler, which is a smaller shield, and is used for victory, or for decoration.  This shield helps quench the fiery darts of the wicked one, but that takes take daily preparation and the renewing of your mind with the Word of God.  You have to know what the Word of God says to be able to use it because it is a great weapon.  Sometimes if you cannot pray anything at all, I would suggest memorizing and/or reading Psalm 91.

Ephesians 6 talks about the loin belt of truth and that is the Word of God.  Jesus is the Word and Truth.  As one preacher put it, He is the Word that came down and wrapped flesh around it.  That doesn’t mean that there was a Bible in heaven.  But there was a Person, who was the Word, and He is revealed through logos and rhema. He is your loin belt, so that mean He’s holding you up so you won’t fall.  He’s got His arms around your waist and the most intimate parts, because that is where you seek intimacy through the loin belt of truth.  It’s like He’s hugging you around your waist and He’s protecting you.

You must trust God, because He is trustworthy, to the extreme exponential power, and there are times where the enemy tries to put doubts in your head, like “Can God really be for real?”  or “I don’t understand what’s going on.”  That’s the best time to put your faith and trust in God.  When you have the Holy Spirit in you, He will lead you to trust God, but that also takes time with Him.  Sometimes it is just getting to know who this Person is living inside of you when you become born again, and you must be careful not to grieve Him.  One thing I have to say, that I have learned recently, is that the Holy Spirit is not about emotion, and is not defined by emotion.  You don’t have to have a feeling to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit.  He is still inside you and unless you blaspheme Him, then He will stay with you because He promised to never leave or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5-6)

There are two ways primarily the enemy attacks us, it’s either physically, or in our thought life.  There’s financial as well, and if we sow and reap properly, and believe God for just what we need as our provider, then He is gracious enough to supply.  I can’t really comment on the financial aspect of it from my own experience, so I can’t go much into detail about that.  When it’s physically, if we have the proper thought life, through the daily renewing of the mind with the Word of God, and have the faith to believe God for healing and rejoice through the sufferings, then that fiery dart is quenched.

If that doesn’t work, then the enemy will try the mind.  He will start to put thoughts in your mind, which can be based on doubt, or fear, or unbelief, and then the enemy starts to see how you will be able to unravel, and how he can tear you to pieces.  So you have to be prepared with tools and the right armor.  I want to mention something first about praying in the Spirit.  We know that there is praying in tongues, and there is praying the Word of God.  When you want to fight effectively, it is better to use the Word of God because you know exactly what you are standing on and it builds faith, but when you want to develop intimacy, or intercede for others, then some people may prefer to pray in tongues because then you are building up what is on the inside and praying the will of the Father.   In both cases you are praying the will of the Father.   So when you are in this position and you don’t know what to do and you are struggling to find a way out of this battle, get to your secret place, and start looking through Scripture.  Psalm 91 is a good place to start, the whole Bible is full of them.

When you are under full attack, and you feel like you’re about to lose your helmet, your shoes, your belt, your shield, your loin belt, your sword, your breastplate, you can’t seem to pray, just go back to the Cross, and remember one thing about Jesus-

15 Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

Heavenly Father I pray,

For all the people undergoing oppression right now, that they may experience release from that oppression in their bodies and over their minds, and I call to them a peace and a steadfast faith that helps them endure during these times.  Let them live on the promises of Psalm 91 and get to know the Holy Spirit more and more and get to a deeper more intimate walk with You Lord God.  Help us to protect and guard our minds with Your Word which is sent forth like a two-edged Sword, to defeat the enemy, and we know that the battle is already won, and that the victory is just around the corner.  Help them to know that there is no where they can go or nothing that they can think that can tear them from the love of God, that His love surpassess all understanding.  Help them to know the width, the breadth, the depth and the height of love so that they can adequately be obedient to Your Word, and not sin against You Lord God. Enhance our prayer lives, and Help us to see more and more of Your Presence Lord God.  Be with us as we walk everyday.  I thank You Lord God, for blessing Your people and making Yourself known among them.

In Jesus Mighty Name I pray.

God raises the dead and dry bones

Ezekiel 37 says:

The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”

Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of theLord! Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.”’”

So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.

Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”’” 10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.

11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’ 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 13 Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. 14 I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it,” says the Lord.’”

Many of our lives are in grave conditions and they are so dead.  There are so many dead Christians walking around that are dead inside.  They think they are walking right with God, but on the inside there is something that that is missing.  What is missing is the power and Presence of the Holy Spirit operating in their lives.  They are just walking around with no life and they are caught up in the sins of this world.  When the enemy comes upon them, they don’t know how to fight because they are so caught up in themselves and their own lives.  They are caught up in their own burdens, but they don’t know what God’s burden is.  I was listening to some of the praise and worship songs, that I have selected on youtube, and I find that the ones that bring me into the presence are all about me, and today the Lord was speaking to me, that there is something wrong with this picture.  We know it’s all about Him, but how can we can realize the implication of that statement.  It takes the Holy Spirit.  It’s not just the Holy Spirit hovering upon you, but we have to abide in the Presence of God Almighty through the Holy Spirit.  That is what will get us to what is missing in our lives.  Sometimes we are so concerned with finances, jobs, getting fit, and other distractions, that we refuse to take time to pray and really seek God and His presence so that His presence is made among us.  I mean, this is the God who is more immense than the universe, and He wants to spend time with us.  So in this passage of Scripture, it says, that the Lord will bring the people of Israel out of their graves, and He will put His Spirit in them, and He will place them in their own land.  All throughout the Book of Ezekiel, you see the Lord emphasizing, “Then they will know that I am the Lord.”  All He wanted was for them to realize that He was the Lord.  We know that Jesus is Lord, and that was the same thing that He experienced when He came and He was in the town of Bethany, when He was going to raise Lazarus from the dead.

Jesus speaks to Martha:

25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25)

And then again to Mary:

32 Then, when Mary came where Jesus was, and saw Him, she fell down at His feet, saying to Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”

33 Therefore, when Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who came with her weeping, He groaned in the spirit and was troubled. 34 And He said, “Where have you laid him?”

They said to Him, “Lord, come and see.”

35 Jesus wept. 36 Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!”

37 And some of them said, “Could not this Man, who opened the eyes of the blind, also have kept this man from dying?”

Then there is the miracle:

40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?”41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying.[d] And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. 42 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.” 43 Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!” 44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes, and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”

Both times in Ezekiel and the Book of John, God was trying to in essence prove that He was God, but they were stubborn to believe.  God has actually been proven so many times in the Bible and even in the world today, but people refuse to belief.  They have to an act of faith and it is something that you cannot comprehend with the mind or with logic, but it is something beyond that.  It is something that the Spirit of God has to remind you.

Doubt is a very dangerous thing.  Skepticism is a very dangerous thing.  We don’t want to be like Thomas who saw then believed, but we want to be the ones like Abraham, when all things seemed impossible, He still be believed.  Jesus said that if we believed we would see the glory of God.  We like to get into the presence of God and then we follow the tabernacle example to get into the presence of God, but if we simply don’t believe, if we don’t act out in simple faith and trust God, then the Presence or glory of God, will not be upon our lives. The Bible has warnings for us in the last days, that says that many people will fall away.  Even in books like Ezekiel and Isaiah, they say that only a remnant, or a chosen few will be left, so few that a child can count them.  It is a warning for us all.  If I’m not preaching to anyone else, I’m preaching to myself, that we need to not let anything stop us from believing that Jesus is God, despite what our emotions say, or what our circumstances are.  We have to be led by the Holy Spirit, and we must seek Him, until we find Him because we don’t want to be cast away from the One who loves us beyond measure.  We have to endure to the end and overcome all the trials and tribulations, because if we don’t there is a threat lingering for us.  Sometimes we have become so casual with God, that we lose the awe and reverence of our King.  One of the things that God hates the most is pride.  It is pride and idolatry, so if we have anything in our hearts that is exalting ourselves or anyone else before God then we need to come to the place of surrendering that idol or that self-exaltation and laying it down before the feet of our King.

Heavenly Father,

We trust and know that You are our King, and that You are exalted above the throne and that no one else is like You Lord God.  Let Your Spirit be upon us and take us to that next level of Your holiness, and repentance, and a closer walk of faith and believe that You are the very one who can raise the very dead souls who are in the graves, and let them come forth like Lazarus did, and that You have put Your breath and Your Spirit in us and upon us.  Restore us to what we were created for and not to the bondage of curses that have been applied to our lives because of sin.  Help us to glorify You in all that we do and not to seek our own fame.  Help us to surrender our lives to You each and everyday, and help us to have the God kind of faith that pleases You.  Help us to strengthen the feeble knees and the hands that hang down, but help us to walk upright and boldly to conquer every obstacle in our way that keeps us from fulfulling Your plan and purpose of our lives.  Help us to be walking breathing living testimonies of Your living power in our lives.  Touch our lives right now Lord God, and let Your presence be known among us Lord God.  Please protect those that are going under persecution and the Body of Christ in these last days that we are in.  I apply this prayer with the precious blood of Jesus.

In Jesus Mighty Name I pray,
